Our team participated in the 15th International Conference on Shot Peening, which took place at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA, between September 22-25, 2025.
Prof. Mario Guagliano gave the plenary lecture of the conference on the topic “From Shot Peening of Historical Pompeii Walls to the Redesign of Roman War Machines: A Reverse Engineering Approach”.
Our PhD student Erencan Oranli delivered two speeches focusing on the application of shot peening in two different research areas.
1) “Creating Heterogeneous Surface Gradient Structure via Ultrasonic Shot Peening”
2) “Modulating Microstructure, Surface Properties and Fatigue Properties of Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg Alloy Through Peening Surface Post-Treatments”
The International Conference on Shot Peening (ICSP) is held every three years, attracting strong interest from both academia and industry. It serves as a valuable platform for insightful discussions that drive advancements in research and practical applications within the field. The next ICSP will take place in 2028 in Japan.
